We join Jack Slatterey from RSPB and a group a volunteers to count the Carneddau Choughs

The Choughs are one of our feathered friends living in the Carneddau. A beautiful bird with a striking red beak. This film, "Counting Their Community with Our Community," is the first of three films talking about the Choughs and what we can do to protect their habitat.
"There are only 433 breeding pairs in the whole of the UK and Isle of Man and of that population 236 of these pairs are in Wales, which is 55% of the total population. It’s such a great privilege to have these amazing birds here, but we also have a high responsibility for the conservation of this species in Wales. - Jack Slattery, RSPB

The next film planned is, "The Chough Network" which will encourage people to document any Choughs they see because the Choughs need everyone's help. So, no matter whether you are bird watching, out on a ramble, or just walking the dog, be part of the Chough network (the film will tell you what to capture and how) and help us learn more about these beautiful birds and what we can do to grow their numbers.
"Getting involved with Jack and Adrienne, it's nice that I've been able to read the rings and then I have a history of where they were born and if they are male or female. So that's been a big part of it, that's what I like, finding the history of the birds" - Brian, Volunteer
